​Molly was raised in a small town in Northwest Washington state and has over a decade of experience painting and building signs. While working as a high school math teacher, she often spent weekends and summer breaks creating handmade signs for friends, family, and a few local businesses. Over time, designing and painting unique pieces became a real passion for her, one that eventually inspired her to start Shuksan Signs.​

 

Molly grew up skiing at the popular Mt. Baker Ski Area, which many do not know sits closer to Mount Baker's twin peak Mount Shuksan in the North Cascades. Derived from the Lummi tribe's word for "high peak," Shuksan (šéqsən) has been a special place for Molly since childhood.
